New style of drinks

New style of Drinks

Talented mixologists, sommeliers, and beverage experts from around the globe are putting their skills to good use and turning everything we know about our favorite beverages on its head. From coffee to cocktails, these creative drinks will be everywhere this year:

DETOXIFYING DRINKS
detoxifying ingredients, like turmeric, ginger, and cinnamon will be making their way onto menus in alcohol-free drinks and cocktails alike this year.

SAVORY COCKTAILS
In 2018, we’ll see creative mixologists utilizing a slew of salty and savory ingredients—everything from vegetables and squid ink to cured meats —in craft cocktails.

SUPERFOOD COFFEE
The New Year will see the rise of superfood coffee, with everything from turmeric to ground flaxseed to cacao being added to your daily dose of caffeine.

COMPOST COCKTAILS
despite the gross name, compost cocktails are actually pretty clever. Mixologists claim that these cocktails, which use herb, fruit, rinds, and other kitchen scraps to garnish drinks, are on the rise, bringing both creative flavors and sustainability to the bar.

SIPPING RUM
Rum is still on the rise as a fine sipping spirit on the level of whiskey.

CRAFT SODA
Those who pass on alcohol will have more ordering options than ever in 2018, thanks to the rise of craft soda. Brands like Drink More Good are making artisanal syrups and craft mixers that make soda seem suddenly grown-up.

MEXICAN WINE
Some of the best wine you’ll drink in 2018 might just come from an unexpected source: Mexico. “Mexico has been growing grapes and making wine in different regions for hundreds of years. And guess what? It’s really good!

SOUR BEER
Beer connoisseurs will have more flavor options than ever in 2018, as sour beers become increasingly prevalent.

BIODEGRADABLE PACKAGING
The end of plastic bottles clogging landfills and polluting our drinking water is on the horizon. Ooho!, a biodegradable, edible water container made of plants and seaweed, is going to be on everyone’s lip.

WINE ON TAP
Beer isn’t the only alcoholic beverage you’ll be getting on tap in 2018. Wine from kegs will become an increasingly familiar sight this year; in fact, wine bars like Manhattan’s Lois are already tapping into the trend.
